LG Sinha Issues Prompt Financial Aid for Gagangir Terror Attack Victims

Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today directed Chief Secretary (Home, J&K) Shri Chandraker Bharti to provide immediate financial assistance to the families of the civilian victims of the Gaganjir terror attack.

He also demanded immediate release of compensation from APCO Infratech. Officials from APCO Infratech briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the assistance being provided to the relatives.

Under the SRE, Rs 6 lakh will be donated to the next of kin of each martyred civilian and Rs 15 lakh will be provided by APCO Infratech as immediate measures. An ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh will be provided to all the injured.

In addition, APCO Infratech will also provide financial assistance to scheduled civilian families under the corporate personal accident policy and provide a total CTC of 5 years as insurance compensation. All PRW labor and third-party employees are covered by workers’ compensation policies and receive corresponding financial assistance.

The Lieutenant Governor said that the government and APCO Infratech will ensure that all possible financial assistance and other necessary necessary support is provided to the next of kin.

“While this is an irreparable loss and cannot be compensated through money, we are taking concrete steps for the families of the martyrs to enable them to live a dignified life,” the deputy governor said.
