An Air India passenger recently shared a troubling experience during her flight from Delhi to New York. She discovered a cockroach in the omelette served to her, and alarmingly, her 2-year-old child had already eaten more than half of it, which led to concerns about food poisoning.
The incident occurred on September 17, 2024, and the passenger took to social media platform X to express her distress. In her post, she included a video and photos of the meal, tagging Air India, the aviation regulator DGCA, and Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu to draw attention to the issue.
In response to the complaint, an Air India spokesperson acknowledged the situation and stated that they are investigating the matter with their catering service provider. The airline expressed its concern for the affected passengers and emphasized their commitment to ensuring food safety. They mentioned that they work with reputable caterers who are expected to follow strict quality control measures.
Air India assured customers that they are taking necessary steps to prevent such incidents from happening in the future. The airline’s spokesperson reiterated their dedication to providing safe and high-quality meals on their flights.
