Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Arjun Singh accused Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers of raiding his office-cum-residence in Barakpur, Bengal, on Friday morning Mazdoor Bhawan. According to the BJP leader, bombs were hurled and multiple rounds of bullets were fired during the incident.
Singh took to social media platform In the post, the BJP leader claimed that the attackers acted under the protection of local police. He also added a video to the post.
“This morning, when everyone was worshiping for Navratri, several jihadists and goons attacked my office under the protection of Namit Singh, the National Intelligence The accused in the bureau case, who is also the son of a local Trinamool Congress MP, attacked my office under the supervision of local police – Mazdoor Bhawan when the mob openly brandished guns in front of the police. The local police acted as silent bystanders,” Singh posted.
He further claimed that approximately 15 bombs were dropped and a dozen bullets were fired during the attack. Singh accused the West Bengal police of being biased and acting as “stooges” of the Trinamool Congress party. He expressed disappointment at police inaction during the attack, calling it “shameful”.
Barrackpore witnessed frequent clashes between the BJP and TMC workers. The Trinamool Congress is yet to issue an official statement on the allegations.
