To celebrate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, an event took place at the Washington, D.C. Office Building in Nandani Hills, Samba. The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police Vinay Sharma, and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vidhi Bhattial.
This gathering honored Gandhi for his significant efforts in eliminating leprosy, a disease that has affected many lives. As part of the initiative, a special vehicle was introduced that will travel throughout the town of Samba. This vehicle is designed to spread awareness about leprosy by sharing important information regarding its causes, symptoms, treatment options, transmission methods, and prevention strategies through audio messages and songs.
The event saw participation from various health officials, including the Deputy Chief Medical Officer (Dy CMO), Block Medical Officer (BMO), Community Health Officer (CHO), and other medical and paramedical staff who supported this noble cause. Their collective aim is to educate the community and reduce the stigma associated with leprosy, ensuring that people have access to necessary information and care.
