Central University of Kashmir (CUK) collaborated with the Ganderbal Municipal Council to organize a cleanliness drive on October 2, 2024, as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 initiative. The cleanliness drive took place at the Mata Kheer Bhawani temple in Ganderbal, marking the culmination of a series of activities organized by the university’s National Service Scheme (NSS) department. This initiative reflects Gandhi’s belief that cleanliness is essential for personal and social development.

Vice-Chancellor Professor A. Ravinder Nath attended the event and emphasized the importance of cleanliness in education and culture. He stated, “This Swachhata event is not just an event but a way of inculcating the Gandhian principles of cleanliness and responsibility in our future generations.” Prof. Nath highlighted that maintaining cleanliness is vital for personal, social, and environmental well-being, encouraging participants to make cleanliness a daily habit.
