CM Omar Abdullah retains Ganderbal constituency, resigns from Bugam constituency

National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah retained his Ganderbal parliamentary seat and resigned from the Budgam parliamentary segment.

The news was announced by interim Speaker Mubarak Gul during a swearing-in ceremony at the Union Territory Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir.

Omar Abdullah decided to resign from Budgam after winning in both constituencies in the recently concluded Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

The news was announced at a swearing-in ceremony where 90 newly elected MLAs took oath to join the J&K UT Assembly.

Speaker Pro Tempore Mubarak Gul presided over the oath-taking ceremony for the legislators.

The MLAs pledged their commitment to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir, vowed to uphold the Constitution and work for peace, stability and development in the region. (KNS).
