Preparations for Dussehra celebrations are in full swing in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. An effigy of Ravana has been set up for “Ravana Dahan”.
Expressing his happiness, organizer Ratan Chaku, general secretary Kashmir Pandit Sangarsh Samiti said everyone in the community is happy to be together This festival is celebrated and people from other communities also enjoy this festival.
“Preparations are on. We celebrate Dussehra with full enthusiasm. We have been celebrating this festival since 2007. All communities are celebrating this program together. People from other communities are also enjoying it. Everyone feels it Happy,” said Ratan Chaku.
At the same time, preparations are underway across the country. In Delhi, the Sri Ram Lila Society claims to have erected India’s tallest statue of Ravan in Sector 10 of Dwarka, which stands at an impressive height of 211 feet.
The organizers also extended an invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to Sri Ram Lila Society, it took 4 months to prepare and install the structure.
Speaking to ANI, organizing committee chairman Rajesh Gehlot said that the theme of this year’s Ramlila decorations and events was inspired by the demolished old Ram Mandir temple in Ayodhya. The entrance gate is designed in the style of South Indian temples and is known as ‘Gopuram’. He also emphasized that they strive to present Ramlila in the most beautiful way possible, with special attention given to decoration and artist performances.
To ensure the success of this event, the committee conducted auditions for over 400 artistes from across Delhi NCR to select new talent. The artists practice for three months before taking the stage to perform live, with a dedicated director overseeing all aspects of the production.
Amid these celebrations, the committee has stepped up security with over 50 Delhi Police, 200 volunteers and over 100 civilian personnel guarding the venue. The DCP receives reports on a daily basis and the SHO conducts regular inspections to maintain safety.
