Farooq Abdullah says: ‘Attacks like Ganderbal cannot merge Kashmir with Pakistan’

National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Monday strongly condemned the Ganganjir, Ganderbal attack that killed seven people, including a doctor, saying such attacks cannot annex Kashmir to Pakistan .

“If Pakistan leaders are really interested in building friendship with India, they should stop killing innocent people. Kashmir can never be a part of Pakistan. I repeat, never. They tried sending rebels in 1947 and since then They’ve been trying since then. Have they succeeded?” Dr. Farooq said.

He said it would be impossible to negotiate with Pakistan unless it stopped killing innocent people in Kashmir. “What’s wrong with the people who were killed yesterday,” he asked.

Dr Farooq said Pakistan should take care of its own people and leave Kashmir to Kashmiris. “We want to serve the people and eliminate poverty and suffering. You are killing innocent people here,” he said.

Dr Farooq said such actions would certainly cast a pall not just on the tourism industry but on the lives of everyone in Kashmir. On the day of the Gangangeer attack, there were 2,000 athletes in Srinagar, including 50 international athletes. Yesterday, they participated in the first ever Kashmir Marathon
