Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was one of three people killed by Israel? Israel Defense Forces Update

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Thursday that it had neutralized three terrorists in operations in Gaza, one of whom was a possible Hamas leader and one of the masterminds behind the October 7 terror attack last year.

The IDF and the Israel Security Agency (ISA) are investigating the possibility of Sinwar’s death. However, the identity of the terrorists has not yet been officially confirmed.

“The identity of the terrorists cannot be confirmed at this stage. There are no signs of the presence of hostages in the area within the building where the terrorists were neutralized. Forces operating in the area will continue to proceed with caution. The IDF said,” the post added.

A few weeks ago, Israel eliminated another prominent leader, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, through airstrikes in Lebanon.

Previously, another senior Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh, died in Iran. While Tehran and Hamas have accused Israel of being behind it, Israel has neither accepted nor denied the accusation.

Recently, the IDF killed several senior Hamas officials, including Rawhi Mushtaha, head of the Hamas government in Gaza, and Samih Siraj, head of the security branch of the Hamas Politburo (Sameh al-Siraj).

On Tuesday, the Israel Defense Forces said that about 20 Hamas members were killed in air strikes and close combat in Jabaliya over the past day, the Times of Israel reported.

Troops also found and destroyed a weapons cache and other weapons during the fighting, according to the military.

“The operation will continue as long as necessary while systematically striking down and completely destroying terror infrastructure in the region,” the military said.

On Monday, the Israel Defense Forces called on Palestinians in Beit Hanoun, Jabaliya and Bairahiya in northern Gaza to evacuate to an Israeli-designated humanitarian zone in the southern Gaza Strip, The Times of Israel reported.

A day earlier, the Israel Defense Forces said it was preparing to evacuate civilians from all of northern Gaza and would expand the size of the humanitarian zone.

The area currently houses the vast majority of Gaza’s population and is where most humanitarian aid is delivered. There is also a field hospital there.

The military also said it was opening two evacuation routes for Palestinians – along the Saladin Highway and the Coastal Highway. Aid groups warn against displacing already malnourished Palestinians again.

In the central Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces said on Tuesday that the 14th Reserve Armored Brigade had launched new attacks in the Brighi area and that troops were destroying Hamas infrastructure and killing gunmen.

Also in the past day, the Israel Defense Forces said fighter jets and other aircraft struck 70 Hamas positions in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the Israel Defense Forces and the Shin Bet security agency said three Hamas terrorists involved in the October 7 attack had been killed in airstrikes in recent days.
