IND vs AUS Test Series: Currently, there is one bowler who is feared among the batsmen of every team in the cricket world, that is the superstar of Team India, Jasprit Bumrah. When Bumrah took 8 wickets in the first match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia in Perth, his fear was palpable among the Kangaroo batsmen. Team India started the series with a win and took a 1-0 lead on the back of Bumrah’s brilliant bowling. Now, Australian team’s chief batsman Steve Smith also praised Bumrah in a statement and also said what makes him completely different from other bowlers.
Bumrah’s bowling action is fantastic
Steve Smith, in his statement to the Sydney Morning Herald, said of Bumrah that his bowling action is a bit odd compared to other bowlers, with his run-up being completely different, and his last movement of the action being completely different. I have batted against Bumrah many times, he takes time to establish himself at the crease. He gets very close and drops the ball, giving you very little time to grasp his ball. Apart from this, he also has a knack for swinging both new and old balls, in which case you have to be very careful while facing his balls.
Bumrah sent Steve Smith to the pavilion for a golden duck.
When Steve Smith came out to bat in the first Test in Perth, he was sent to the pavilion by Jasprit Bumrah for a golden duck. With this, Smith returned to the pavilion for the second time in a Test so far. Earlier in 2014, Steve Smith was bowled by Dale Steyn for a golden duck in a Test match against South Africa.
