Justin Trudeau Follows Donald Trump’s Lead: Proposed 25% Tariff on Chinese Imports

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is now thought to be following the path of former US President Donald Trump. Former U.S. President Trump imposed multiple tariffs on China during his term in office, and current Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau also announced the imposition of tariffs of up to 25% on two categories of goods from China.

Trudeau announced a 25% tariff on steel and aluminum. Justin Trudeau says he will impose 25 per cent tariffs on steel and aluminum from China because Canada is suffering huge losses from China selling these metals around the world at such low prices.

Trudeau posted on the social media platform that Canadian workers are harmed by China’s unfair trade practices and that is why we are taking action. Effective immediately, a 25% tariff will be imposed on Chinese steel and aluminum imported into Canada.

Let us tell you that during Donald Trump’s term, a trade war broke out between the United States and China. Not only that, Trump also began to impose a separate 10% tax on $200 billion worth of goods from China. The products on which Trump took this action include approximately 6,000 products.
