On Friday, a passenger bus carrying devotees to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine caught fire near Katra in Jammu. The bus was full of pilgrims when the incident occurred, and it was captured on video showing large flames erupting from the vehicle.
Eyewitnesses reported that the fire started suddenly, prompting a quick evacuation of all passengers. The bus driver played a crucial role in ensuring everyone’s safety by acting swiftly. “The bus suddenly caught fire, and we quickly evacuated. It was a terrifying experience, but thankfully, everyone is safe,” the driver stated after the incident.
Emergency services were promptly called to the scene, including police and a fire brigade, which worked quickly to extinguish the flames and secure the area. Fortunately, all passengers were reported safe, and there were no injuries.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, which is believed to have been due to a short circuit in the engine. The incident occurred around 3:10 PM near Nomain Naka as the bus was traveling from Katra to Jammu.
