Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing an event to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission, announced the launch of cleanliness projects worth Rs 10,000 crore. He stressed that under the Amrut Mission, water and sewage treatment plants will be established in various cities. Additionally, initiatives like Namami Gange and ‘Govardhan’ plant to produce biogas from waste will take the Swachh Bharat mission to greater heights. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said: “A thousand years from now, when people study the history of India in the 21st century, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan will be remembered. In this century, Swachh Bharat became the largest and most successful people’s movement in the world , by citizens and with citizen participation.”
