Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the All India Conference of Director Generals of Police and Inspector General of Police in Bhubaneswar from today (November 30) to December 1. In which important components of national security including counter-terrorism, left-wing extremism, coastal security will be discussed. Also, business practices and procedures related to policing and internal security matters will also be discussed.
PM Modi will attend the All India Convention of Directors General and Inspector General of Police 2024 at State Convention Centre, Lok Seva Bhavan, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
The three-day conference to be held till December 1, 2024 will discuss important elements of national security including terrorism, left-wing extremism, coastal security, new criminal law, narcotics. The President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service will also be awarded during the conference.
Discussion on internal security at DGP conference
PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will participate in the All India Director General of Police and Inspector General of Police conference starting today. The Prime Minister said in a series of posts on X before his visit that senior police officers from across India will participate in this (DGP/IGP) conference. There will be extensive discussions on strengthening India’s internal security system. Various aspects related to improving policing and public safety will be discussed.
Prime Minister Modi will participate in the DGP conference on Saturday and Sunday. According to an official statement, the conference, scheduled from November 29, is discussing important aspects of national security, including terrorism, left-wing extremism, coastal security and new criminal laws.
The Prime Minister has encouraged annual DGP and IGP conferences to be held across the country since 2014. Earlier Guwahati (Assam), Rann of Kutch (Gujarat), Hyderabad (Telangana), Technpur (Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh), Statue of Unity (Kevadia, Gujarat), Pune (Maharashtra), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), New Delhi and this conference Organized in Jaipur (Rajasthan).
The conference will also be attended by Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, National Security Adviser, Minister of State (Home Affairs), Director Generals of Police of States/UTs and heads of central police organizations. Meanwhile, DGPs of all states and Union Territories and heads of various security agencies have reached the Odisha capital for the conference.
