Student allegedly jumped from fifth floor of Delhi building, no suicide note found

A 19-year-old dental student fell to his death from the fifth floor of a residential building in south Delhi’s Sangam Vihar area on Saturday, police said on Saturday.

They said the incident took place this afternoon when the girl, who lived in another building in the housing complex, went to the fifth floor of the building and allegedly jumped from there.

A police officer said no suicide note was found but a CCTV video was found showing her standing alone on the fifth floor of the six-storey building.

The girl’s family lived in the same building where the incident took place, but they moved to another house on the same site about six months ago, the official said.

The police officer said that today, she came to the old vacant house alone and fell from the balcony.

Bablu Verma, a resident of the same building, said her family had moved to another house but no one knew why she came here in the afternoon.

The crime squad has inspected the scene and the body has been shifted to AIIMS hospital for post-mortem. They said further investigation is ongoing.
