Seven people were killed in a terror attack in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir. The dead included a local doctor and six employees working in the tunnel. Five of the dead were outsiders, two of whom were from the officer class and three from the working class.

Five workers were seriously injured in the attack and have been admitted to Sher Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Srinagar for treatment. The attack took place in Sonamarg in Ganderbal district. Following the attack, security forces along with Jammu and Kashmir Police began search operations.

6 people died on the spot

The terrorists who carried out the attack are being searched. The terrorist attack killed six people on the spot and one person died on the way to the hospital. It is understood that the terrorist attack occurred at around 8:30 pm. At this time, all employees have gathered in the canteen to eat.

Terrorists arrived at the scene and opened fire

Witnesses said that while the workers were eating in the canteen, three terrorists arrived there and started firing indiscriminately. Before anyone could understand, the terrorists fled from there after committing the crime. Two cars were also burned to ashes in the horrific shooting. Sources said the attack was carried out by the Lashkar-e-Taiba-linked Resistance Front (TRF).

Which tunnel are the workers working in?

Preliminary investigations revealed that the workers who were attacked were members of the Z Mod tunnel construction team. It connects Jagangir valley to Sonamarg in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir. Let us tell you that the work of this tunnel was done by a construction company called APCO from Uttar Pradesh. In fact, the tunnel is expected to be completed by 2025, so work is underway here in full swing.

Two days ago, a migrant worker from Bihar was allegedly killed by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district. Locals saw the body on the roadside on Friday morning. The worker was later identified. He was immediately rushed to a nearby district hospital, but his life could not be saved.
