Tirumala scammed Rs 65,000 in name of VIP darshan, MLC accused of fraud

In a case of fraud in the name of VIP darshan, a family was defrauded of Rs 65,000 in Tirumala. In this incident, three persons were accused of cheating pilgrims and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).

The accused, including a member of the Legislative Council (MLC), were accused of allegedly defrauding a family of pilgrims from Bengaluru of Rs 65,000. According to the police report filed by 61-year-old TTD constable S. Padmanabhan, the incident took place in front of Srivari Temple.

It was alleged that the accused P. Chandrasekhar, MLC Mayana Zakia Khanam and their public relations officer Krishna Teja met N. to deceive Saikumar and his family members. The family was given VIP darshan and Veda Ashirwadham tickets at the temple.

The fraud case occurred before 12:10 noon on October 19, 2024, and the police formally filed a case on the matter that night. Officials are investigating the matter and have booked the accused in various departments.
