At least three people were killed when a helicopter crashed and caught fire in Maharashtra’s Pune district on Wednesday morning, police said.
The incident occurred when the helicopter, belonging to Delhi-based Heritage Aviation, took off from the Oxford Golf Course helipad in Pune and was on its way to Beed in Maharashtra to pick up NCP leader Sunil Tatkare. Mumbai.
The helicopter crashed just five minutes after takeoff, police said, adding that initial reports suggested poor visibility may have been the cause.
“The helicopter took off from Oxford Golf Course at 7.30 am. The accident occurred five minutes later due to heavy fog,” a senior official from Pune police said.

The helicopter belonged to a private airline called Global Vectra.
