“Everyone working in Tirumala should be a Hindu. This will be my first endeavor. There are many questions. We have to look into this,” Naidu said while addressing the media on Thursday . He mentioned that he would consult with the Andhra Pradesh government to determine whether non-Hindu staff could be transferred to other government departments or provided with voluntary retirement.
Naidu expressed gratitude to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and the NDA government for the appointment, calling it a “turning point” in his life. He further criticized the previous YSR Congress government, accusing it of mismanagement of the temple, leading to what he said was the decline of the sanctity of Tirumala.
Naidu stressed his loyalty to Lord Venkateswara and explained that he had not visited Tirumala in the past five years due to alleged mismanagement but had visited regularly in previous years.
The Andhra Pradesh government has reconstituted the TTD committee, which currently consists of 24 members, including eminent personalities such as BR Naidu and Bharat Biotech co-founder Suchitra Ella. This comes after former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu alleged that substandard ingredients, including animal fat, were used in the temple’s popular Tirupati laddus during the previous government.
